North Alabama Regulators New Shooters Information

Hey  Partner---So you Want to Be a Cowboy Again?

That's great, and we are happy you are interested. Those of us at North Alabama Regulators are here to help you get started and save you some time and effort looking for the right information.  It's a great sport, and the entire family can have fun if your kids are old enough to shoot.

We are first and foremost interested in SAFETY. Without that the entire crowd is concerned. With that everyone can have a great time not worrying about any sort of accident or problem.

So, don't feel bad if someone cautions you, or suggests that you do, or don't do something regarding SAFETY on our range. It's about that simple, know and follow the rules and all will be happy.

There is a lot to learn about Cowboy Action Shooting and much of it is learned while you are starting to participate.  Nobody can learn it all in one shoot or one month.  Ask a lot of questions and observe the methods and procedures of others to learn as fast as you want too.  We cannot tell you everything about shooting and the rules so you will need to study on your own. We will give you the best sources to help you along the way. The internet and its connections will be the best and fastest way for you to find out what you need to know.

Here is a list of info sources.

These are valuable sources for handbooks, rules, membership info, and shooting classes, etc. You can spend hours just reading all the info there. A great way to get started. If you do not have access to the internet ask any NAR officer for a set of rules and we will provide one for you.    We want to help, so let us know where and what you need to know and we can point you in the right direction.

One of the first things you need to know is about the equipment. It's a GOOD IDEA to find out about what is allowed BEFORE you start accumulating   things which are not O. K. The other way to learn fast is to come to the shoots, watch what is happening and ask questions. Be sure to bring both eye and ear protection. It costs nothing to be a visitor and when you do start shooting you can get your first shoot FREE as a guest of our club. Now it's up to you to start doing some homework, and we are here to answer questions and get you started off right.

There are multiple sources of information on the internet one such place is  GETTING STARTED IN COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING look at the information ask questions and hopefully we will see you at the Range.

SEE YOU DOWN THE TRAIL
